(Meizu Zero review and specifications)
Meizu Zero review and specifications:
2019 will be the year of big changes in the mobile industry. Flexible screens, 5G, new form factors – all this will greatly change the look and characteristics of smartphones. In the Chinese Meizu, they decided not only to follow the trend but to overtake the competitors by releasing a phone without a single connector. The idea is beautiful, but its practicality is very controversial.
Meizu Zero Price and release date:
An unusual smartphone was presented in January, but a full release was announced for April 2019. In general, the device acts more as an example of modern high technologies. The price and the way the phone is distributed are related to this. Meizu Zero review has launched a smartphone co-financing program, where up to 100 members can sponsor the launch of the device. For them, the phone will cost $ 1,300. When the smartphone gets too wide sales, its price tag will be quite astronomical – $ 2,000.

Meizu Zero Screen Review:
Meizu Zero review received a 5.99-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Here it is not the most fashionable – the lower and upper frames are not minimal, and the latter also has a front camera. But, there are no annoying cutouts. There are no speakers in the usual sense – a piezoelectric transducer (sound 2.0 technology) gives sound directly from the display. The disadvantage of this solution is that the call volume is not high. Similar technology was used in the first generation Xiaomi Mi Mix. A fingerprint scanner is also built into the screen.
Of course, the main feature of Meizu Zero review is a case without connectors and buttons. The back cover material is ceramic. However, as the review of the test sample, which appeared on the Chinese video hosting Youku, showed, there are still holes – two microphones on the lower edge of the device.
But neither the connector for charging nor the power button can be found here. Protection against water and dust in the smartphone is implemented according to the IP68 standard.
Two questions arise from all these features – how to restart a frozen smartphone and how to repair a non-separable case. Meizu has not yet given answers to them.
Processor, memory, communications:
In terms of the hardware platform, the Meizu Zero is the flagship of 2018. The Snapdragon 845 processor here is a powerful, but not the most premium solution. Meizu said that as soon as the 855 becomes available, a version of the smartphone with this chipset will be released.
The RAM in the smartphone is 6 GB of fast LPDDR4X, and the built-in memory is 128 or 256 GB (the manufacturer has not yet disclosed detailed details about the memory).
Not everything is good with wireless interfaces – there is LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth of the latest version, but NFC support is not announced. This is forgivable for inexpensive Chinese smartphones, but not a Hi-End device.
Users of some countries, including Russia, will face the problem of working in networks of mobile operators. The fact is that the device uses a virtual eSIM card format. Roughly speaking, there is no SIM card slot in the device, and in Russia, the built-in identification modules are still prohibited by law.
The smartphone received a dual 12 + 20-megapixel main camera from Meizu 16th and a 20-megapixel front camera.
The manufacturer does not disclose the capacity of the built-in battery, but it is unlikely that it reaches 4000 mAh. You can only recharge your smartphone using wireless charging. The charger that comes with the package delivers 18 W of power, which will allow you to quickly charge the Meizu Zero.
