Huawei P30 Lite: Release Date and Specifications:

It just so happened with Huawei that with the release of each new generation of flagships, the Chinese show the lite version. In design, it resembles top models, but in essence, it is a mid-range device.

This happened in 2019 when the Huawei P30 lite appeared. The device was presented on March 26 together with the “older brothers” and immediately found itself in their shadow.

Interestingly, unlike the P30 and P30 Pro, Huawei decided not to open a pre-order in Russia for the P30 lite, reasonably deciding that such a smartphone would not cause much excitement.

The start of sales is scheduled for April 13, when the phone can be purchased for 21.9 thousand rubles.

Screen Review:

From the flagships, the Huawei P30 Lite has a teardrop notch for the front camera. The screen here is 6.15 inches at a resolution of 1080 x 2312 pixels with a density of 415 PPI, which is a good indicator.

Of course, the matrix here is simpler than that of the tops – this is IPS. On the other hand, many will like it, because OLED screens have unpleasant features that classic LCDs lack.

And also, the P30 Lite has a noticeably thicker screen bezel, which gives it away from its budget and a fingerprint scanner here on the lid.

Housing Review:

The design of the P30 lite follows the patterns of older models. These are glass panels and a metal frame. The screen is covered with tempered glass, and Huawei calls the back panel “3D glass” because of the rounded edges.

A controversial solution that will only add impracticality to a slippery body. The device has lengthened in comparison with the previous generation and got heavier up to 159 g.

There are three colors – midnight black, pearl white and deep turquoise. The last one is with a gradient.

Processor, memory, communications:

The major difference between the P30 Lite and its siblings is its processor. It uses the 8-core Kirin 710. This is Huawei’s own processor, which is one of the “solid mid-range” we saw on last year’s Honor 8X.

It is made using a 12nm process technology and operates at a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz. Responsible for the video GPU Mali-G51 MP4 and proprietary graphics processing technology Turbo 2.0, which increases the level of graphics in some games.

But despite all the tricks, this processor is inferior in synthetics and gaming performance to competitive solutions from Qualcomm.

The only modification of Huawei P30 lite with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory will be on sale in the Russian market. In China, the same phone comes with 6GB of RAM.

You can expand the drive here using microSD cards. The P30 lite decided not to use Huawei’s proprietary format, and this is for the best.

With the interfaces, everything is not bad here, but it is felt that the manufacturer was saving money. For example, here is Bluetooth 4.2, and the USB Type-C port operates at the speed of the 2.0 protocol.

But there is support for contactless payment via NFC, which many competitors are deprived of.

Huawei P30 Lite Camera:

The Huawei P30 lite has three cameras, but that’s where the similarities to flagships end. The main module here has a resolution of 24 megapixels with an aperture of f / 1.8.

Together with it, 8-megapixel shirk works with a 120 ° image capture angle and a simple 2-megapixel bokeh module. The manufacturer places particular emphasis on artificial intelligence algorithms that should improve the picture.

What really looks strange is that the phone can record video at the maximum FullHD resolution, while many classmate phones can handle 4K.

The front camera is 32 megapixels and will appeal to the selfie lover because artificial intelligence here recognizes eight categories of scenarios and automatically detects the contours of the face.

Huawei P30 Lite Battery:

The P30 Lite has the weakest battery in the family. Its capacity is only 3340 mAh, so it is unlikely that the smartphone can work on a single charge for more than a day and a half. The phone supports 18W fast charging.
