Samsung Galaxy Fold: Screen review:
Of course, the bending screen became the main novelty. In fact, there are two of them. The first, frontal, is designed to facilitate the work with the device when folded. This is a small 4.6-inch screen with HD + resolution and made using Super AMOLED technology. Much more interesting is the flexible screen Infinity Flex Display. Samsung’s innovative product specifications are in no hurry to disclose, but it’s known that its diagonal is 7.3 inches, the resolution is QXGA + (1536 x 2152 pixels), and the aspect ratio is 4.2: 3. By the way, this squareness in the unfolded form looks more like tablets from Apple than widescreen “tablets” on Android. The main display is not at all like the usual modern matrixes. The Dynamic AMOLED panel is covered with a polymer layer that is thinner, more flexible, and stronger than glass.
When folded, the Samsung Galaxy Fold Review looks thicker than we are used to seeing modern smartphones. The thing is that the engineers did not want to make the smartphone excessively thin in the unfolded form for reasons of design reliability, which, of course, is good. For the possibility of folding the two parts of the gadget meets the “innovative connecting module.” It protects both the internal display and the folding mechanism. The device will be available in four colors – Astro Blue, Martian Green, Cosmos Black, Space Silver.
Samsung Galaxy Fold Review About CPU, memory, communications:
Samsung Galaxy Fold Review received maximum hardware at the beginning of 2019. Adreno 640 video accelerator and Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Samsung hinted that the smartphone would come with a different chipset in some markets. Which one is unknown.
Being one of the leading manufacturers of components for mobile equipment, the Korean company has stocked up 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a 512-gigabyte drive based on the completely new UFS 3.0 standard for the device. The speed of this memory is higher than that of the UFS 2.1 revision ROM, which is used in other flagships.
You can talk about the supported wireless interfaces of an innovative device for a long time. There is almost everything here. It is worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy Fold was the first smartphone with a fast USB Type-C 3.1 port.
Samsung Galaxy Fold: Camera:
The new form factor of the folding device required as many as six cameras from the manufacturer. The first, at 10 megapixels, is located above the secondary display. The second and third are front cameras over a large display with a resolution of 10 megapixels (f / 2.2) + 8 megapixels (f / 1.9).
But the main thing is the main three-chamber module. It has sensors with a resolution of 16 megapixels (with a wide-angle lens f / 2.2), 12 megapixels (aperture f / 1.5 and f / 2.4 and optical stabilization), and 12 megapixels (telephoto with optical stabilization, two-time optical zoom, aperture f / 2.4). All this gives the right to call the Samsung Galaxy Fold one of the most advanced camera phones of 2019.
The smartphone received an original power system of two batteries, each of which is located in one of the halves of the case. The total capacity is 4380 mAh, charging is supported by the Quick Charge 4.0 standard. The smartphone can charge while recharging other devices thanks to wireless reverse charging.
What could be a Samsung Galaxy Fold:
Recent reports claim that the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be released before the end of 2018. According to CNBC, the device can be demonstrated in November at the Samsung Developers Conference in San Francisco. The companies themselves admit that although the process of creating a genuinely folding screen was not easy, the project may be announced this year. If so, this means that Samsung may be the first in the world to launch a genuinely flexible smartphone.
Samsung Mobile CEO Dong-Jin Co. also said in an interview that the phone is not a one-time thing and can exist as a series of devices.
The new release date for the device contradicts previous rumors and leaks that indicated that the company intends to release the device in early 2019. Older reports claimed that the smartphone’s output would target specific markets with a “wide commercial debut in the second half of 2019.”
And very early rumors said that the Samsung Galaxy Fold Review would be shown in February 2019 at the Mobile World Congress 2019 technology conference. There is also information that Samsung has already demonstrated the Galaxy Fold as part of a private event at CES 2018.
